We are thrilled to announce that grant funding has been approved for the Croatian Cultural Center's new Adult Croatian Language and Cultural Engagement Program, and we anticipate launching within the next month! Whether you grew up hearing Croatian at your grandparents' table or are just beginning to explore your heritage, this program gives you a clear path to speaking the language with confidence. Participants will take structured online courses supported by the Croatian government at the A1, A2, and B1 levels, then put those skills to work through conversational practice sessions here at the Center. The cohort is limited to about twenty participants with two instructors at every session, so you'll get personal attention, plenty of chances to speak, and a real sense of community with fellow learners.

What truly sets this program apart is its hands-on cultural workshops, where language comes to life. Ferment your own kiseli kupus and later use it to roll sarma, learn the art of suho meso, bake traditional Christmas kolači, and take home ćevapčići you made yourself. Along the way, you'll pick up the tamburica and the kolo, hear stories from community elders about life in the old country, and join a Croatian wine tasting seminar. Planning a trip or thinking bigger? Workshops on travel planning, conversational Croatian for travelers, Croatian citizenship, and business and investment opportunities (in partnership with ACAP) will help you connect with Croatia in meaningful new ways. The year wraps up with a whole lamb roast graduation celebration.
