About the event

The Croatian Cultural Center of Chicago will host a special screening of the documentary film “IX. Bojna HOS-a – Istina”, directed by Jakov Sedlar, on April 24, 2026. The film presents a powerful historical account of the IX HOS Battalion and its role during the Croatian War of Independence, highlighting the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of Croatian defenders during some of the most difficult moments of the war. Through archival footage, personal testimonies, and historical reflection, the documentary preserves the memory of those who gave their lives for Croatia’s freedom and independence. Community members, veterans, and friends are invited to attend this evening of remembrance and reflection at the Croatian Cultural Center. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the film begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $20.
